Creating a separate Guest Network with Tomato
A neighboor recently asked me if he could get access to my wireless network for internet access (with paying me some Euro/month for it). Problem with this was in my current setup giving access to the wireless would mean to give complete access to my network and so to all my machines smb-shares and so on. So I needed a solution to have a seperate network with the neighboors PCs that only has access to internet but not to my LAN. In the following I will explain how I did this with a Linksys WRT54GL router running the latest version of the Tomato firmware.

Collecting Mails from Different Accounts
Maybe like me you have various mail-accounts with different providers. wouldn't it be convenient to have all of them collected in one place and accessible through one account from all your devices (Home, Work, Laptop, Mobile phone…)? Here's how I achived this using a combination of fetchmail/procmail for fetching and sorting mail and dovecot to make them accessible via imaps (Note: I don't run my own smtp-server but use the providers servers for this):

Gentoo on its way to the Nokia N8x0!
Good news for all gentoo-fans with Nokia Internet Tablets: slonopotamus is in the process of porting the full gentoo to the tablets! At the Moment he provides a working chroot and the instructions to build your own stage by crosscompiling the stuff on a “real” gentoo. Also he is working on a fully bootable gentoo for the tablet. I'm really eager to try this and looking forward to what may become possible with this in the future. I'll follow the developement and will be reporting back here about my success and news of the project. Now for anyone who wants to try it out here is the link to slonopotamus site:
Added Blog to the Site
Today I got around to add blogging features to my dokuwiki setup to extend the site a little. I had this in mind for some time, since a Blog is a more flexible solution for managing different topics than the old Category→Subpage etc. approach I used before. Also for me its easier to post about things like new programms I found or simple tips and tricks I learned without having to think about the page structure and where it might fit best. I won't blog my whole everyday routine here (I think that won't interest anyone) so this blog won't have any regular update cycle. Now have fun reading and check back later for updates!
